Position Description:


RAIS is seeking a toxicologist to support the development of new and optimized products and processes consistent with our global Growth, Innovation and Harm Reduction Platforms. The incumbent will be required to provide stewardship and regulatory support for the business, critically assess a broad range of scientific & regulatory information, develop technical documents on a variety of scientific and risk assessment topics, and support regulatory submissions and product development. The individual will be required to interact globally across the organization, as well as externally, to manage multiple projects to ensure business timelines are met.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Conduct and/or coordinate reviews and toxicological evaluations of proposed product prototypes, materials, ingredients, including testing plans and data generated to support the proposals.
  2. Develop technical documents on various scientific, risk assessment, and regulatory topics, including toxicological data summaries.
  3. Lead and/or assist with the preparation of documents in support of regulatory submissions.


Position Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Food Toxicology, Toxicology, or related discipline with 2+ years of industry or regulatory experience in the food/beverage industry.  Will consider other relevant experience in consumer goods industry, such as dietary supplements or pharmaceutical.
  • M.S. in Food Toxicology, Toxicology, or related discipline with 5+ years of industry or regulatory experience in the food/beverage industry. Will consider other relevant experience in consumer goods industry, such as dietary supplements or pharmaceutical.
  • Excellent project management and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills.
  • Job level and compensation commensurate with education and experience.
