FreeWheel is hiring an Application SupportEngineer based in our New York office who will report to the Sr. Manager of Corporate IT. As the Application SupportEngineer, you will be responsible for providing application support and maintenance for corporate applications used by FreeWheel employees. You will also work on implementing initiatives, enhancing applications and automating manual processes thereby improving productivity.

Provide daily operational support for the suite of Freewheel enterprise applications
Define and apply application configuration changes to support business initiatives
Research, plan, test, and apply application upgrades and patches
Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of production systems including database, application and web servers
Review problems to understand root cause of issues and ensure proper fixes are done
Coordinate and complete assigned deliverable schedules to ensure timelines are met
Track issues and risks, communicate status and escalate concerns to management


2+ years of Linux Experience

Scripting experience with Linux and or Java
Web application monitoring experience
Knowledge of web and application servers such as Tomcat

Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus

An IT Operations background (maintaining production like environments) is a plus
