Job Summary:

The Director, Diversity and Inclusion Learning & Development will be responsible for leading the design, development, implementation and evaluation of Diversity and Inclusion Training. In addition, the Director will provide oversight and direction to non-courseware-development projects that support the strategic vision for Diversity and Inclusion at Comcast. The Director will also serve as a liaison between subject matter experts in Corporate Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resources, Legal, Comcast University, and Corporate Communications and partner with the Corporate Diversity and Inclusion team on communicating the programs. This is a senior individual contributor role in Comcast University (CU).

Specific Job Responsibilities:

D&I Training Strategy and Direction

In collaboration with the Vice President of Talent Acceleration and the Corporate D&I team, define and drive an overarching, multi-year strategic direction for D&I training at Comcast.

Collaborate with stakeholders in Corporate Compliance, HR, Legal, NBCU, and Spectacor to build the annual D&I training development and management plan each year in support of the strategic direction established for D&I.

D&I Training Portfolio Management

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and evaluation efforts for all D&I training. Provide engagement oversight to the projects managed by the Program Managers and vendors responsible for D&I course design, development, and implementation. Provide instructional design strategy guidance to professional services partners and program managers on content design and development, and support/implement selected courseware design and development activities directly as needed.
  • Deliver D&I training as needed.
  • Manage the project portfolio of courseware development projects and non-development projects, maintaining a master schedule of all milestones and status of projects on a weekly and monthly basis. Identify and manage risks and issues to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • In collaboration with Corporate D&I, CU Operations and HR Operations, manage course launches to unaffiliated/affiliated entities and newly acquired companies. Includes identifying business and technical requirements, uncovering alternative approaches to delivering training, and leading a cross-functional team to implement the system and processes for training for unconnected affiliates.
  • Be a change champion for D&I courseware. Includes being accountable for raising the awareness and desire of the organization to adopt the D&I training. Own the development needs of the Employee Resource Groups.
  • Work with course Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to conduct ongoing needs assessment(s) that identifies audience, content change requirements, etc. for new courses and for courses launching in the upcoming year.

Content Quality Management

  • Comply with Corporate Communications and Corporate D&I design standards. Coordinate with Comcast Cable, Corporate, affiliated entities and course SMEs on standard content development strategy, course design parameters, technical requirements etc. to create a consistent look and feel for courses that supports the media technology culture of Comcast.
  • Lead quarterly quality reviews of D&I training, leveraging employee feedback to determine strengths, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work across internal/vendor course developers and HR Operations to identify and determine technical standards/course requirements to ensure course functionality and performance stability on Comcast's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Determine and implement escalation and communication process for unexpected course functionality issues.

Learning & Development Liaison for Diversity and Inclusion Training

  • Act as a liaison with business operations to identify and understand business initiatives that could impact D&I training efforts and adapt plans accordingly.
  • Leverage other functions within Comcast University as appropriate to integrate D&I training efforts with other training efforts that support business functions directly.
  • Collaborate with CU Operations and HR Operations to drive the proper application of technology platforms and learning management systems to deploy, manage and track D&I training.
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings related to D&I training.


  • Bachelor's degree highly desired or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred (Diversity and Inclusion, Organizational Development, Legal, Human Resources, Management, or related coursework)
  • Generally requires 10+ years' experience in human resources and/or diversity and inclusion-related roles
  • E-Learning instructional design experience is required
  • Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively partner with senior level executives and/or senior counsel and others across several functions
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with the ability to innovatively operationalize strategic initiatives
  • Project management skills with experience in managing a portfolio of high-profile projects
  • Ability to work with IT and/or system developers/administrators to identify technological applications or constraints and leverage technology to achieve desired results
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions
