Job Summary:

The Whole Home WiFi QA Engineer provides technical leadership in the development and evaluation of QA methodologies. Serves as lead engineer for all WiFi QA test plan development. Defines test plans for evaluation of new products and features. Drives new feature and product testing into Quality Assurance organizations. Subject matter expert for WiFi QA methodologies across products.

The Whole Home WiFi QA Engineer is primarily responsible for the engineering input for development of test methodologies and test plans for broadband devices. The role requires strong leadership and communications skills. The Whole Home WiFi QA engineer position requires the ability to work with product managers and product engineers to define product test requirements, lead the development of test plans and test cases, validate the test plans, and lead the implementation of QA processes.

The ideal candidate has a technical background in Wifi and secondarily other home networking technologies such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, MoCA, and Ethernet in a DOCSIS environment. A proven track record in delivery execution under aggressive schedule demands and competing priorities is a must. Experience with testing in an agile development and deployment environment is a plus.

The successful candidate will lead the QA test plan efforts for broadband products incorporating WiFi and other home networking technology as a QA subject matter expert for test plan development and the methods and processes utilized in the QA environment. The engineer must be able to work with cross-functional team members to identify tasks, drive development of test plans, serve as technical interface to vendors for QA plans and drive QA processes.

In this role the Whole Home QA Engineer will work with OEM/ODM's, chip suppliers, the Business Unit, Product Engineers, Product Managers, and RDK development teams. Close coordination with the product and program leads will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Function as a QA process SME for T+P projects.

- Contribute to WiFi and other home network technology with respect to QA

- Serve as lead in the development of test plans

- Develop processes and methodologies to be used in QA

- Work with the Product Manager and OEMs to drive certification cycle.

- Work with key internal and external stakeholders to define the priority of new test initiatives.

- Actively participate in design reviews of both hardware and software,

- Provide leadership as assigned and support all existing industry forums as needed.

- Identify QA risks and mitigation plans as appropriate and work with product and development leads to drive solutions to completion.

- Communicate with stakeholders including development teams, operations, product and Sr. Leadership as required.

- Work with the Product Manager and Product Engineers to drive the certification cycle.

- Work with key internal and external stakeholders to define the priority of new feature QA and resolution of defects.


- Bachelors degree or equivalent plus 11-15 years experience or Masters Degree plus 8-10 years experience in the industry with proven success; Masters Degree preferred; BS or MS in Engineering Sciences, Computer Science, Physics or Math preferred.

- Understanding of and experience with the full product development lifecycle, including functional and technical specifications, product use cases, user stories, implementation, QA processes, deployment and maintenance

- Subject matter expert in QA processes

- Proven track record of collaboration with product owners

- Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
