Senior Utilities Supervisor
About the Job
Accountable for coordinating all efforts directed to perform the proper maintenance services of the Warehouse, QC Laboratories, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packaging Process areas (such as\: Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Refrigeration/HVAC systems) assigned equipment and systems at the Humacao site to ensure the optimum uptime of our operations and compliance of the highest quality, safety and lower cost level, timely responding to changing market demands and with customer service. Also this position is accountable for providing technical support related to equipment operation to ensure proper maintenance. This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function. Performs supervisory function of direct reports related to talent acquisition recruitment, performance management and development to assure that area of responsibility goals and objectives are established and accomplished, discipline administration, attendance administration (team vacation planning, leaves of absences approval in the electronic Attendance System) and, leads the group toward a maintenance excellence culture. Supervises the allocation of utilities resources (people, equipment and supplies), ensuring optimum resource utilization. Develops, monitors, and controls the maintenance budget. Ensures the leverage of resources in order to timely execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. Identifies areas of opportunity related to GMP, EHS, trainings and reliability and recommend path forward; implement action steps under his/her responsibility. Develops KPIs, monitors performance, identifies areas of opportunity, and makes decisions and recommendations to meet or exceed goals and objectives. Negotiates priorities within service units to ensure alignment with the Planning organization. Decide upon priorities in order to support and maintain continuous operations. Evaluates, identifies and decides on action plans for areas of opportunity to improve maintenance systems. Performs as the manufacturing liaison person to improve, monitor and control the robustness of all preventive maintenance and calibration activities complying with a high attainment standard (99%+). Defines and decides upon utilization of utilities and priorities during emergency situations. Coordinates the efforts to support the operational areas based on priorities identified. Participates and is actively involves in RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) site plan to improve equipment uptime and reliability. Provides technical support to develop and/or assist in writing SOPs related to equipment operation to ensure proper maintenance and use Supply technical information to the RCM Leader and his manager by identifying opportunities related to his area of responsibility and, defines the appropriate path forward to increase the reliability. Completes CAPAs, eCCs and investigates Quality Events as needed, within the established due date. Implements and sustains a 5S Initiative across the maintenance area. Assures that assigned responsibilities areas are maintained in full compliance with relevant and pertinent regulatory agencies (EPA, FDA and PROSHA), and the same follows Corporate Directives. Administrative tasks such and regulatory (EHS and GMP) compliance on all documentation and within CMMS.Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Five (5) years of experience in the Maintenance/Engineering in a Pharmaceutical or Chemical Process Industry. Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, refrigeration and HVAC systems and equipment functions and maintenance practices. Two (2) years supervisory experience or leading project teams. Leadership, supervisory and team oriented skills. Excellent oral and written Communication skills (English and Spanish). Ability to identify problems and develop solutions. A proactive mindset to address manufacturing operations. Ability to proactively adapt to and promote new technologies and processes in a changing maintenance culture. Ability to communicate effectively with customers in regards to developing and meeting expectations. Advance computer skills (Excel, Word, PLC’s, OIT, etc.). Willing to work extra hours, rotating and/or alternating shifts, as per business needs.
