Position Summary\:
This role will work with key business partners to assess strategic and tactical needs and define process and technology solutions that align with business objectives related to R&D Strategy & Planning, Global Clinical Operations, and R&D Finance with a focus on business process optimization and portfolio and project planning and management.  In addition, this role will understand relevant industry regulations, standards, best practices, strategies, and tools and will formulate recommendations and influence business direction based upon this information.
Key Responsibilities\:
  • Subject matter expert for numerous business capabilities and associated business processes across multiple functions within domain. 
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of the End to End Clinical Ops and R&D Strategy and Planning business process and enabling technologies for business domain, both internally and externally.
  • Provide key insight toward development of business capability strategic roadmaps for domain.
  • Develop and refine the portfolio of projects / initiatives annually and calibrate when required due to changes in business conditions / priorities.
  • Partner with Build & Run organization in support of demand management process and ensure alignment of maintenance releases with overall capability roadmap and business priorities.
  • Establish and develop effective business relationships with key leaders and stakeholders to ensure IT can deliver solutions which align with business strategies and divisional priorities.
  • Facilitate business process change within the relevant divisions and functions.  Develop strong collaborative relationships with IT colleagues across BMS Information Technology to ensure delivered solutions and services can be appropriately leveraged and value realized.
  • Collaborate on the development of business cases for future programs and projects with Clinical Operations IT and define measurable business outcomes.
  • Must have a proven track-record of 8+ years working in large and/or complex IT programs, preferably within the pharmaceutical R&D domain.
  • Must have experience in pharmaceutical industry and an understanding of the drug development and commercialization process.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and define business processes is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use structured problem solving and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root cause, create action plans, assess impact and develop resolution options
  • Ability to effectively elicit complex business requirements in both small and large settings across audiences including business and IT professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the scope and direction of initiatives across multiple levels of management and organizational boundaries
  • Superior communication skills leveraging all media\: collaboration technologies (SharePoint, Skype, etc.) and presentations written, emails, verbal. 
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate and collaborate with employees and management at all levels.


Ideal Candidates Would Also Have\: 

  • Knowledge and experience of Business process modeling and process optimization skills is preferred.
  • Must have proven experience working with structured Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and measuring business outcomes.

Other qualifications\: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a focus on computer science or Information Technology preferred.
