Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The scientist must exhibit strong project management and technical skills with minimal guidance.  The scientist will be expected to execute projects with changing priorities and aggressive timelines.  He/she must be a self-starter, demonstrate competency in vapor product development and possess excellent communication skills as he/she must be able to lead a diverse, multi-functional project team to accomplish the goals. The candidate will collaborate across numerous internal functions including Scientific & Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, as well as external vendors, in order to deliver successful outcomes within specified timelines.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop vapor product ideas and concepts for future product development initiatives
  • Lead multiple projects while maintaining appropriate and required project documentation
  • Develop and execute test plans that support product development initiatives
  • Identify data and information requirements to support product submissions
  • Develop product specifications / material requirements
  • Provide technical support for commercialization
  • Understands Company and R&D strategies and ensures alignment of work streams
  • Provide technical leadership in corporate initiatives, including subject matter expertise, product ownership and related issues

 

Position Qualifications:

  • BS or higher in science field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Science with 3-5 years of experience in Product Development, preferably at a Consumer Products or Pharmaceutical company
  • Working knowledge of analytical methodologies and techniques
  • Working knowledge of vapor products, their design and performance
  • Ability to interpret and assess data in order to provide recommendations to the business
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
  • Advanced technical writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
