Responsible and accountable for all BMS Humacao Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives to improve reliability of the systems, equipment and operations by utilizing best maintenance practices to meet customer priorities and comply with Regulatory policies and goals. Equipment reliability goals must be developed and prioritized based on manufacturing strategies and/or needs. Also, accountable for the Metrology program alignment with the BMS Maintenance Excellence and Engineering Guidelines by continuously improving, monitoring, and controlling the robustness of all preventive/predictive maintenance and calibration activities. This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function. Conducts and/or reviews and approves failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) to ensure proper maintenance tasks and intervals are established for all equipment in the RCM program in order to achieve the desired reliability. Develops and/or approves equipment specifications and acceptance tests, and maintenance procedures for new and/or rebuilt equipment that is installed and maintained in order to ensure maximum value and reliability. Communicates with customers to develop and meet reliability requirements and RCM program goals to ensure strategic manufacturing goals are being met. Prepares reports to describe the status, benefits and opportunities within the RCM program to ensure strategic maintenance goals are being met. Performs root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for chronic or critical equipment failures and identifies corrective actions necessary to increase future reliability. Ensures that goals related to the metrology, reliability, safe operation, condition, efficiency, and cGMP programs of all plant equipment and instrumentation are met. Leads the Metrology Program and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives by participating in and/or providing resources to improve the reliability of our systems, equipment, and operations. Identifies opportunities and implements modifications and strategies in order to ensure the efficiency and reliability of site mechanical/calibration systems. Promotes the integration and cooperation with all other Facilities and Engineering and Manufacturing units by facilitating teamwork, participating in decision making, and by acting as a role model. Develops and revises\: calibration data sheets for site instrumentation, calibration SOPs to be aligned with Engineering Guidelines and Directives and Maintenance Excellence initiatives, and Maintenance Job Plans for manufacturing equipment to be aligned with Engineering Guidelines and Directives and Maintenance Excellence initiatives. Develops assessment for site’s mechanical and instrumentation systems. Prepares assigned resources developmental plans to ensure associates obtain and/or maintain the skills necessary to accomplish Facilities and Engineering Department goals and objectives including condition based, predictive, and lubrication maintenance expertise. Provides feedback, coaching and serves as a role model on a daily basis to ensure required performance levels. Periodically reviews maintenance equipment history in order to provide proactive solutions to potential problems affecting reliability and or cost. Coordinates and/or participates in the planning and execution of shutdown activities. Develops and/or approves equipment specifications and acceptance tests, and maintenance procedures for new and/or rebuilt equipment/instrumentation that is installed and maintained in order to ensure maximum value and reliability. Coordinates and/or participates in the planning and execution of shutdown activities. Maintains liaison to Engineering ensuring all new and/or rebuilt equipment meets or exceeds standards for reliability. Supports maintenance and operations for corrective and reactive maintenance as well as proactive maintenance related to reliability. Supports the execution of capital projects, when required. Participates on regulatory audits and SME of our Metrology program. Leads the standardization of equipment, components, installation and technologies within all site major systems. Ensures predictive maintenance efforts to attend routes, troubleshooting and corrective activities as needed. Develops Master Plans in order to describe operational capabilities to ensure support to current operational levels and new products expected in addition to action plan and path forward, including possible capital investment recommendations. Supports maintenance and operations for corrective and reactive maintenance as well as proactive maintenance related to reliability. Leads the standardization of equipment, components, installation and technologies within site mechanical and instrumentation systems. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the specialized discipline and perform data gathering, benchmarks and information search to ensure outstanding technology is brought to properly maintain the Plant. Represents the site in all Centers of Maintenance Excellence and other corporate initiatives related to site mechanical systems. Provides and keep up-to-date Technical Support documentation. Ensures EHS and GMP practices and regulations are considered in all activities related to the owned system, projects, maintenance, etc.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Preferred in Mechanical or Electrical). Five (5) years of experience in the Maintenance/Engineering in a Pharmaceutical Industry and three (3) years’ experience in the equipment reliability function including metrology. Intimate knowledge of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation, systems and equipment functions and maintenance practices. Leadership, supervisory and team oriented skills. Excellent oral and written Communication skills (English and Spanish). Experience with Predictive Technologies, Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis. Advanced computer and excellent technical skills. Outstanding technical expertise in mechanical and electrical failures. Ability to proactively adapt to and promote new technologies and processes in a changing maintenance culture. Ability to communicate effectively with customers in regards to developing and meeting expectations. Ability to develop strategies and implement following a structured plan. Ability to identify problems and develop solutions. Ability to integrate processes and develop efficient and effective link between them. Ability to proactively adapt to and promote new technologies and processes in a changing maintenance culture. Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, PLC’s, OIT, etc.). Occasional contact with Government Agencies and professional organizations to obtain services and/or to benchmark. Willing to work irregular hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
