Act as a subject matter expert in all areas of internal business controls for Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) with a particular focus on Inventory Accounting and Risk Management. Responsibilities include\:
Partner with Finance and the business units to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of internal GPS processes and controls.
Manage the end to end SOX 404 process.
Assess control risks, plan and implement risk mitigation and monitor effectiveness of controls.
Update critical process documentation.
Perform the annual review and assessment of Internal Control Standards.
Identify control deficiencies and issues.
Plan remediation of deficiencies/issues.
Prepare periodic reporting and present to senior management, including the President, GPS and the Vice-President of GPS Finance.
Serve as the GPS lead with the Business Control Function Center of Excellence (BCF COE).
Ensure financial compliance standards are met or exceeded.
Assist in facilitating the development of technical competency of the group.
Maintain a full understanding of Corporate Accounting Directives and Internal Control Standards.
Actively participate in Technical Accounting Network (TAN) issues and meetings.
Facilitate resolution of accounting issues.
Provide input to APIC on GPS relevant Policies.
Assist in BU policies and procedures creation or update.
Develop and deliver training and presentations to varied audiences, including Senior Management.
Facilitate deeper understanding of inventory accounting and processes.
Apply technical knowledge to GPS/BCF initiatives and work streams to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Act as the internal control point of contact for proposed changes in processes.
Assist with system updates/integrations within the scope of responsibilities.
Assess potential impact of issues/changes.
Lead finance and operations process and controls support.
Analyze current processes and recommend process improvements.
Maintain internal documentation, approval levels, etc. to reflect current state of GPS senior management.
Assist with ad-hoc financial analyses to help drive business performance.
Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external audits
Manage GPS Finance and Operations through audit process, facilitating timely responses.
Facilitate audit recommendation resolution and closure.
Execute/Understand regular reporting of Anti-Bribery (AB) Reviews.
Quarterly, analyze/review the AB general disbursement selections for GPS, and follow up on T&E disbursement anomalies.
Prepare and present results of reviewcait to Senior GPS and Finance management.
Escalate concerning transactions to with appropriate Compliance/Legal personnel.
Manage summer intern(s).
Supervise control testing performed by GPS, intern and/or other centralized groups within BMS.
Address quality concerns and compliance issues with controls testing.Qualification:
Degree - BS/BA or equivalent, MBA preferred
Certification – CPA required
Language – English required
Regulations - Knowledge of applicable GAAP, Internal Controls, and business laws and regulations.
8+ Years of financial auditing, consulting or operations experience with significant exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, technical accounting and manufacturing accounting with a focus on cost accounting
Oral/Written – Ability to present concisely and descriptively in both oral and written format to all levels of management.
Technical Accounting- Ability to investigate and conclude on complex accounting issues.
Computer Skills - Excel/Word/Flowcharting/PowerPoint/ SAP capability required
