Focus on the preparation, analysis and reporting of financial results and performance of investments. Interpret complex accounting transactions, perform regulatory reporting functions and ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting guidance. Be collaborative, organized, self-motivated and flexible.
- Accounting for the Company’s investment portfolio including bonds, mortgages, derivatives, and other investments. Includes accounting for monthly close, financial reporting (including statutory reporting), divisional reporting, consolidated reporting, and ad hoc reporting for investments. Communicate with 3rd party vendors and internal groups to ensure timely and accurate flow of information to and from the Company.
- Review, analyze and improve manual and automated procedures, system and controls. Be involved in the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems to improve accounting/financial processes and internal controls.
- Research and document accounting guidance and policies, and participate on project teams.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
Experience: 4 years progressively responsible experience in the preparation and interpretation of financial results; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Investment accounting knowledge and experience preferred.
Professional certification required: CPA, CMA or MBA preferred (or actively pursuing).
