Support development of new molecular entities through conducting biopharmaceutical research on innovative, complex, drug delivery systems using in vitro and in vivo methodology.
The candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting in vitro experiments to understand drug release, dissolution, and absorption from dosage forms, as well as contribute to pharmacokinetic (PK) studies in rats and dogs to build in vitro-in vivo correlation and understanding of clinical PK data.
The position requires the candidate to leverage their knowledge on multiparticulate systems, hydrogel-based systems or lipid-based systems and innovate through the development of new bioperformance tools to study small molecule, peptide, biologic or nucleic acid delivery across all phases of drug development (IND to LCM).
Ph. D. with 0-4 years of experience in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology or related field.
The applicant must have solid fundamental knowledge of biopharmaceutics (drug dissolution/solubility, permeability, absorption), PK studies and data interpretation, and be knowledgeable about predictive modeling tools. Hands on experience with drug release, absorption and drug delivery experimentation is required, as well as PK dosing and blood sampling.
The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in analyzing / interpreting experimental data, running analytical techniques such as HPLC/ UPLC-UV, size-exclusion chromatography, UV/fluorescence spectrometry, and common characterization techniques.
The candidate must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to function in a collaborative matrix team environment, and interface with internal and external partners.
